I am from the used barbies under my bed,

from stuffed animals and old crayons.

I am from the swimming pool,

the really deep one, the one I felt sick in.

I'm from the garden state

where it's quiet and bright.

I'm from the cherry blossom trees

and plus the sappy oak trees

I'm from Youla and Jongtae's branch,

from thick bibles and girly-girl dresses.

From the many crowded people,

waiting for the time of peace, solitaire, and repent.

I'm from the state where

weather is moderate.

Sunny when summer

and gloomy when winter.

This is where I'm from.
