What I did in class (2010, 11, 22)

During class this day, Mr. Williams handed us a packet titled, "Spiritual Gifts Assessments".
It's kind of like a survey which asks you tons of questions and tells you what your spiritual gift is.
There were 112 questions that we had to give an individual mark on and we added the total marks.

My spiritual number one came out to be Faith and the second one came out to be prophecy.

Faith: it is to seek God to work in a given situation and trusting.
Prophecy: Speaking with conviction and bringing change into other's lives.

I'm not sure if these are really my spiritual gifts but I suppose they are, according to the test results.

What I did this class (11/19?)

Today, we gathered the information from our survey results and we came up to get different codes. Mrs. Gunther gave us a booklet full of codes that had a whole list of jobs next to the codes. I ended up with one code, but there were recommended codes as well. I took the codes and looked them up in the codes booklet and found some jobs recommended for me according to the survey I took.

Some sounded interesting, but I'm not sure which job to research about. I have some jobs that I'm interested though. Like, dentist and pediatrician.

The jobs that were recommended for me were interesting, because there were a lot of jobs I've never even heard of and they seemed new to me.

I am not sure of which job I am going to choose to research on, but I am thinking of picking a job from the ones recommended for me.

11/17

Today, Mrs. Gunther handed us our Confidential Report and we went over it with the whole class. We (I) got to know more about my personality and the conditions of my learning. I got to know other special terms, like for example, what motivations there can be from teachers or parents and what kinesthetic learning is.
I got to know my preferences in many specific, in different aspects.

What I did this class (11/15)

In class on 11/15, we worked on the leftover things we had to do for the surveys or questions on the site given.

We worked on a little quiz? where you answered questions related to your personality or our interests.
We submitted our answers and they calculated the type of personality we have, and which jobs fit us the best. The results came out in order, in the order: The most interested subject to the least.

Later, we received these two booklets; One was for the job- codes and the other one was where you write and was used for other quizzes. (Like the ones from the website.) It sort of gave you an idea of what kind of jobs will be better for you in the future. (suiting you)

Thought Questions

How do you plan on choosing a career?
- I plan on choosing a career by reading about different types of jobs I'm interested in or asking my parents. Maybe, by this assigment that I am going to do in Writing class. (Research paper)
I can ask my parents on what they think about the job- because they have far more experience than what I have.

Does your gender make a difference?
- I don't think my gender will make a difference because men and women are equal, which I think is true. I am a female but that doesn't change the amount of work I do or the amount of income I get.

Who will help you choose a career?
- My family will help me choose a career. My parents will help me by guiding me into the right direction and maybe even looking for a job that might well- suit me. Since my parents know me the best, I bet they can help me with finding a suitable job for me (:

Can the Bible offer any help?
- I think the Bible can offer help. Actually, a lot of help. Since I am a Christian I will be able to let go of all the pressure and rely on God. It will have advice for me in choosing a job. For instance, maybe there could be a verse about choosing wisely or making big decisions.
Ex: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

How-To-?

How to Wash Your Hand

First, go in front of a sink and turn on the faucet. It would be better to make the water warm.
Second, you use plenty of soap and rub your hands together at least for ten seconds.
In addition, you should wash under your nails, palms, wrist, and fingers.
Next, you should rinse your hand thoroughly with warm water.
Lastly, you should dry your hands with a dry towel or a paper towel.
To prevent from reinfection, you should turn off the faucet with the towel or paper towel.

Quote Thingy-majig

From the quote, "Feel the fear, and do it anyway", I can relate my experiences with this quote. First of all, I believe that this quote is saying that when you feel fear, do not run away from it, but just go on with the fear. During my past fifteen years, I have done many fearful things, and because I do not like to do things that are scary or fearful, I try to avoid fearful events as possible. However, there were events in my life that I could not avoid the fear.

Some years ago, I went to my friend's birthday party which was at an amusement park. When we got there, my friends and the birthday girl were all excited into riding roller coasters. We had a great time, but towards the end of the birthday party, the birthday girl suggested into going in the haunted house. I was so scared of going in the haunted house, and I was paranoid if I should go in or not. The birthday girl was looking so intense at me and I didn't know what to do. Eventually, I went in and bared the fear. I didn't want her to misunderstand that I didn't like her party.

Another time when I had to feel fear was when I had to take surgery when I was young. I hit my chin on the ice and needed stitches. It was my fault for not being careful and so I had to take surgery. If I did not do stitches, my chin would have been weird right now. I took the surgery and got stitches.  However, I just went through the pain and fear, together. I knew it was for me and I needed to go through it anyways.

Like these two examples, I believe that there are many times when you have to feel fear even though you don't want to.  Therefore, the quote, "Feel the fear, and do it anyway," can relate to my experiences and to other people's experiences too.

The Migrant Mother Photo- Mother's perspective

Thinking about the economical state in our country I think I might face huge difficulties. I do not have any strength to get back up and the children (Jill and Bill) have been starving for days, already. Brian, my husband, as well as the children's father, is very sick right now. There are no jobs to be seen in the streets and everyone is wandering around looking for jobs. Everyone is moving to California to look for jobs and Mrs. Nowee just came to me saying that she found a high payed job, in California, picking oranges on the fields. I am looking at the ad right now, but I am not sure if I could take Jill and Bill with me. Brian is sick right now and the children are already starting to feel sick. I am sitting on the porch thinking of what to do with my life and as well as my family's. I love Jill and Bill very much and of course I love Brian. If only Brian can wake up and lessen the burden from me... I miss his smile so much. I miss Jill's plump cheeks and Bill's chubby belly but now their cheeks are hollow and their bellies are flat. I am so worried of how I am going to move on with the children and Brian. Brian is very sick that he was tucked up in bed since last week. He has barely, been eating porridge everyday, because there was not enough money. What am I going to do. Oh, wait. Jill and Bill are coming. They are coming from both sides and lightly hugging me. I feel that I am their mother and I have gotten the opportunity to be their mother from God.  I now realize that the only way to go through this difficulty is to have faith in God, that He will save us all. Wait a little more, Jilll, Billy, Brian. He will save us, I know it.

The Three Pigs (Wolf's perspective)

It was a warm, bright, sunny day and I was planning to travel around for a while because I lost my job, which was far from the country side. I walked and walked heavily on the crookedly road when I heard a melodious sound from the side of where the trees were growing in abundance. I was unsure of where I would stay during my travel, but I was sure I was going to sleep there for the night- where the harmonious music was playing from and where the trees breathed out fresh air.
When I was getting nearer to the village, I saw these two little specks of pink running around mad, with their instruments, singing songs which made me very angry. They were insulting me, and other wolfs saying that they were not afraid of wolfs! I was so alarmed and I went up to them, looking buff. I was so hungry anyway, so I planned to catch them and eat them for supper. I was getting closer and closer to them and hid behind trees. Carefully and slowly, I went up to them and they saw me. WAM! They were wide-eyed and started running around with their tails wriggling. I chased after them and one of the pig was living in a straw house. What a fool. I knocked on the door, which I could feel was very fragile. I knocked on the door harder and harder and warned him that I was going to blow the house down. I have won in many competitions, comparing who had the strongest blow. I always won, so I was confident in blowing this house down. I got ready and puffed up my stomach. I blowed and the whole house fell down in a second.
I was eager for the pig because I was so hungry and I started chasing it. It squealed so loud that I wanted to squish it so bad but it went into another pig's house. The owner of this house was the other pig who was singing along. I was more mad at him because his house was made of branches and sticks! I was afraid of sticks, but I wanted to eat them so bad! The inside of my mouth was starting to feel numb because of all the saliva, which is really gross... I knocked on their door and told them to open the door. They did not respond so said I was going to leave. Yes, this was my plan! I was going to pretend to go out of the village but really just use my hands to make the sound of my foot steps. They were too naive that I was sure they would get deceived. After I left the gate of the village I dressed up in a sheep and laid in the front porch. It was really embarrassing but I couldn't help it! I was that hungry. I knocked on the door and told them I was a sheep who was lost but they did not open the door. I got so mad, mostly at the pathetic way I was dressed up in, but I puffed and puffed and blowed harder than the house made of straw. The roof went out and everything else did except the door. I was reveled and they started running to another house.
I could not see any other house in the village so I thought the pigs were going to meet a dead end and they were going to get eaten by me. However, they ran into another house which was almost near the forest, which I couldn't see. I could not see the house because I was staring only at the two little pigs and wanting them for supper but I saw another plump pig who was opening the door for the two frantic pigs. The pig that opened the door for the two pigs looked very delicious that I was sure I was going to catch that pig and eat it for supper. Or eat the left over for a midnight's snack. I dressed up as a grandma who was selling toothbrushes so I had a pack of toothbrushes in my bag. When I knocked on the door, the plump pig opened the door! I was so shocked so I pushed the door very hard but there was a stupid little metal thing that kept me from pushing the door wide open. It was really annoying when that plump cute looking pig took my toothbrush from my hand and through it back to me. I was so angry that I thought of another idea to get into the house and this time, eat three delicious looking plump piggies.
This time, I jumped lightly up to the roof and found the chimney! I was so glad just by looking at it and I was eager to revenge and cook them. I imagined three pieces of pork on the kitchen table and slowly reached for the chimney. I fit myself in it and slowly went down and down. The closer I got down, the wider the chimney got and slipped out of the chimney falling quickly. I landed in a pot of warm water and I saw no pigs which really disappointed me. Then, I suddenly felt this bursting hot hot hot, very hot feeling on my bottom. I looked down and saw myself boiling in a pot of boiling hot water!
It hurt so much that I thought I needed to get some ice on my bottom and went back up the chimney like a bullet. I landed on the dirt and ran quickly to the road back home. I needed some ICE!

Julia- Where I'm From

Where I'm From
                                                                                                             Julia Song
I am from the used barbies under my bed,
from stuffed animals and old crayons.
I am from the swimming pool,
the really deep one, the one I felt sick in.

I'm from the garden state
where it's quiet and bright.
I'm from the cherry blossom trees
and plus the sappy oak trees

I'm from Youla and Jongtae's branch,
from thick bibles and girly-girl dresses.
From the many crowded people,
waiting for the time of peace, solitaire, and repent.

I'm from the state where
weather is moderate.
Sunny when summer
and gloomy when winter.

This is where I'm from.
